[SOLVED] grabbing the edge of a window to stretch it wider is so hard

there is such a thin area along the edge of a window to grab it to stretch the window wider.  is there a way to make it larger without changing the theme?  i am using the default theme in ubuntu 16.04 upgraded with xubuntu packages.

Alt + right click and you can drag the window to resize it,
