On Debian Buster and Xfce 4.12, the desktop trash icon shows files existing. When it is opened, there are files. However, at https://docs.xfce.org/xfce/thunar/faq, it states under "Where are the deleted items from the trash located?" that they are in ~/.local/share/Trash/files. However, there is no such directory.
Just where are they?

Well, well. It appears these come from another mounted drive. I did not know that happens. Live and learn.
Anyway, it would be nice if it clearly shows where each comes from prior to restoration. What do you think?

I agree. If you right click a trash item you will see a "location" value that just points to "Trash://". It might be more useful to point it to which trash it sits in (given that gvfs/gio support multiple trash cans). I can't seem to find any info on disabling remote filesystem trash cans.

I must say that I prefer it this way. The way I look at it is that it is nice to gather disparate trash cans into one place. However, the program must say which drive/partition each comes from. I would strongly recommend that as a program upgrade. It would be handy indeed. Just list them in a simple outline method. Would that be too difficult to program?
