Xfce configuration under git

Hi

I have an xubuntu 18.04 and I would like an easy way of moving my xfce configuration to a new xubuntu installation. I thought it might be easy to do this by putting my xfce configuration in a git repo and then restore it on a new machine.

Is this easy and/or doable?
Would this work across new versions (example from 18.04 to 19.10)?

It's doable but not so easy. There's a very informative thread here (featuring ToZ) that can make your success more likely.

If you achieve a nice git setup please share your playbook as it might be of interest to others, good luck!
