Hey,
I was happy with my notification zone (having inside icons of quiteRSS, smplayer, clementine...) but I wanted to try xfce4-indicator-plugin in my panel and then, all the icons I just mentionned, disapeared from the "notification zone" to the indicator" zone in stead.
But I didn't liked it, so I removed the "indicator zone"... No change. I uninstalled the package... No change. Reboot ? No change.
Notification zone refuses to display a bunch of icons that where there before. How could I reset this ?

What version of xfce4-panel and distro are you using?
xfce4-panel -V #for panel version
lsb_release -a #for distro version

Thanks !
It was almost as this topic said. It was named Ayatana indicator, calling "/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/ayatana-indicator-application/ayatana-indicator-application-service".
This solves the issue for me. For the future users, wouldn't be nice (as this "ayatana" thingy is enabled automatically when added to the panel) to make it disabled automatically when removed off the panel ? Just suggesting.
