an austart script

i already have a .desktop file in ~/.config/autostart and it works, starting up my terminals in multiple workspaces.  i also want to run a script that will not open any windows.  it just initializes some files in /tmp.  i put it in ~/.config/autostart but it does not run.  do i need to reference it from another .desktop file?  i only want to run it once, so running it from .bashrc is no good, since that runs for each terminal (i start up 6 of them, and sometimes launch more)

Re: an austart script

Only .desktop files are launched from ~/.config/autostart.
You can create your new .desktop file or use the settings to launch any script: Session and Startup > Application Autostart > Add new
