Modify right mouse button behavior?

Greetings, I have been trying for quite some time to figure out how to modify the default mouse behavior. In particular, I need to disable registering the right mouse button release. To clarify, right clicking on a file opens a context menu and releasing selects the highlighted menu option. I know this is the default intended behavior but I need to change it nonetheless. Thanks.
