Nautilus as file manager?

I like nautilus better than thonar. However, copying files from let's say Desktop to an open (in nautilus) folder does not work.

Is there any way to fix this issue?

This is not an Xfce product, so I would think a web search on "nautilus drag and drop" would be more successful since I see many hits reporting this problem.
