No logout confirmation...from 'action button' or whiskermenu, debian10

Fresh install of Debian 10 XFCE (4.12.5)

When I use the logout buttons in the whiskermenu or the 'action button' xfce4 panel plugin, I don't get a confirmation window asking me whether I want to logout/reboot/etc. I get logged out with no confirmation. Both the panel plugin and the whiskermenu have options in their settings to get confirmations (check-boxes which are selected by default and have been left that way).

With those settings selected, I should be getting a confirmation dialog. Is this a bug? Am I right to post this here instead of the debian forum?

Hello and welcome.

Check at Settings Manager > Session and Startup > General tab and make sure that "Prompt on logout" is selected. If that doesn't work, can you post back the exact Whiskermenu command is set for the logout option as well as the exact wording of the Action buttons menu item you've selected?

Thanks! That worked.

Funny that the whiskermenu has an option (behavior tab > session commands > show confirmation dialog). The action button plugin has a 'show confirmation diolog' check-box too. I guess those are plugin settings, which are over-ridden by the session settings.

Another way I logout, when windows are all closed is to use the alt-spacebar key combo to bring up the logout window. I'm assuming that'll work now too.

Cheers from BC.

Cool.

The confirmation dialog that you are talking about is an older style confirmation countdown that was available when selecting shutdown/restart/suspend. It's been removed from the Whiskermenu in newer versions and should probably be removed from the Action buttons plugin because it doesn't really make sense any more.
