I have PCloud but I do not want it autostarting.
Under Settings, Session and Startup, I unchecked the box.
Later, after a reboot, Pcloud autostarted. I went back into Session and Startup and the box was checked.
I repeated- and it returned, each time.
So I removed the entry from Session and Startup completely.
Next reboot- the entry was back and checked. Pcloud started up with the PC.
What gives? ---Am I Missing a Setting here--- or is Pcloud acting like Microsoft?

Heh heh, I like the way you are thinking. Hint taken, but as much as I hate the nagware and begging of PCloud, sadly it is the most functional of cloud services that manages a regular folder on my machine- Unless anyone has a good suggestion for a replacement...?

Sorry for not explaining what I was thinking... I meant that the answers cite a file (~/.config/autostart/pcloud.desktop) which I think might be related to your issue.
I have no issues with PCloud (didn't even know it existed, thanks), and currently I'm not using any software/service of this kind.

Thanks. You solved the problem. I also found a few other startups in there that needed to go.
Too reliant on GUI tools. I kept using the settings instead of thinking clearly and going to the folder. I should have thought of it... Admittedly, though... the GUI tools should still have done the job- I wonder why they failed.

Ah, great. I wonder if an update will reinstate the file though.

That is a good point. But my updates are manual only and pcloud is not so much an installation as it is a script.
