I am experiencing a recurring problem with workspaces. It's difficult to reproduce as I am not sure what the exact sequence of events is required to reproduce but it has occurred three times now.
If I have multiple workspaces open and have windows open in some of them sometimes I get a problem where if I delete an empty workspace all the workspaces are deleted and the windows in the other workspaces are collapsed into one workspace. If I try to go back into the workspace settings to try to increase the number of workspaces, the wizard does not let me increment the number of workspaces. If I close all the windows in that one workspace and then try to increment the number of workspaces then I am able to.
I am not sure why or what sequence of events causes this. I would like to switch on some logging to track the workspace panel so I can pass the logs to you for analysis. How do I enable logging for this workspace panel?

Hello and welcome.
I guess it goes without saying that if you could replicate it, it would be easier to fix. Do you have anything in log files at the time that this happens that might help? Either ~/.xsession-errors or the journal? It would probably be related to xfwm4.
Also, which distro, version of Xfce and version of xfwm4 are you using?

Thanks.
I am using Manjaro XFCE and the version of XFCE is 4.14.
I will publish the xsession-errors and journal log next time this happens. I've tried reproducing again but no luck.

I have managed to track one scenario where this happens:
If I have my laptop connected to an external monitor and have multiple workspaces open (with applications running in most of them) and then I start to delete some of the workspaces whilst there are applications running in those workspaces eventually the remaining workspaces collapse into one with all the remaining applications moved to that one workspace. It's definitely an issue when an external monitor is setup.
.xsessions-error has this:

Perhaps best to create a bug report for the developer to look at.
