Hi;
I look on different forum and google, but don't really know how to phrase it/explain it
but basically this morning I booted my computer as usual (Xubuntu 18.04LTS) and VLC, GIMP and QownNote have something in commons which changed.
I'm basically unable to use these apps because the fonts/icons are too big
While I'm looking inside Settings -> Appearance and Window Manager everything is set as usual, which means
style: Greybird
icons: Elementary XFCE darker
font: Noto Sans 9
DPI: 96
and My display is at 1920x1080
you could see a screenshot: https://imgur.com/a/MnmH7Gr
where I put in red the issue
Any idea or to fix that ?
Regards
Jonathan

That is very odd. The icons you noted are supplied by the applications being used. For example, the ones in the GIMP toolbox are supplied by GIMP and not by your theme icon set.
I am not sure off the top of my head what application the other icons shown belong to, but they are not Elementary Icons.
I do not know the cause - as the icon enlargement spans multiple applications, but as a first response to this thread, maybe identifying which icons are affected are the first clue toward solving it.

Yes it is super odd
I realized when I use VLC on my laptop screen, not the external screen, the icons have a proper size but then the text is super tiny
thank for the link, as indeed I found it earlier I gave it another try then remark my Icon Theme was on : Guess icon size from resolution and not at Custom or better simply Use icon size from the theme.
So now I least I could use GIMP and VLC
If anyone have a trick to control the VLC icon size, because even with a VLC theme it still super big.

ok we could close this issue because it is related to QT not to XFCE
