xfce not sourcing .profile after login

Hey guys,  trying to setup some environment stuff in my .profile for running ssh-agent and keychain env cars.

After i login to xfce,  ~/.profile is not sourced.   if I open up an xfce terminal,  run bash -l i can see get ssh-askpass to pop up like it should and have access to my ssh keys.

My googling has found a way of copying /etc/xdg/xfce4/xinitrc into your user config dir and setitng environment vars in there,  and adding any apps to autostart.

i suppose that's a decent workaround,   but truthfully,  i'd just like to honor any .profile or .bashrc files in the users homedir on login.   Am i missing something?  Or are there some hooks somewhere I'm not seeting.

Thanks

Ryan
