How to Remove Favorites Section from Whisker Menu?

I would like to know how to remove the "Favorites" section from the Whisker menu.

Good question!

Seems like it's not possible, per this thread from 2017 (plus, I just tried and couldn't, with Whisker Menu 2.4.3).

Perhaps you'd like to make a feature request in the bug tracker, it fits the general trajectory of the app to be customizable.

I also have a couple issues with whiskermenu because it's just a panel plugin. First it would be nice if it could run standalone so as to create a launcher on a dock such as Plank or other. Second, it would be nice if it was editable.

In the mean time there are two options. I run the app finder from a launder in Plank:

xfce4-appfinder

Not too different from the whiskermenu but it opens in the center of the screen by default. You could also you the traditional desktop menu which shows up from where ever the cursor is which would be from a launcher if so set up.
