Simple repro:
Windows 10, setup 2 Ubuntu 20 LTS hyper-v VM, same hardware spec. (Generation 2)
Install xfce on the 2nd VM, restart the VM.
In both VM, press 'a' (don't release). Then use backspace to clean up the typing.
Observed:
The performance of press 'a' and backspace cleanup on xfce is apparently worse than gnome3.
Expected:
xfce should perform better since it's lighter.
Thanks.

In hyper-v VM, xfce appears apparently slow than gnome3 (I can fee it. Like mouse responses slowly.).
Generally, on real hardware, xfce performs better. Could it because gnome3 can use some hyper-v graphic acceleration while xfce4 cannot?

On interesting observation is:
Ubuntu 20 LTS gnome 3 >> (apparently faster than ) Xubutunu 20 LTS >> (apparently faster than ) Debian 10.3 xfce
Any suggestion?
