desktop icons inconsistent between users

this is Xfce 4.12.2 on Ubuntu 18.04.

i have a .desktop file i created that has "\n" (2 characters "\" and "n", not the newline literally) to split the name into two lines.  it works on my forums user OK.  i copied one with it (a few have it and they all work) to a another user so i can easily reference it as a create similar icons for the other user.  the icon shows up on the other user, but only one line shows up.  why does this happen and how can i fix it?

here is the contents of the .desktop file.  note the 4th line, Name=

"inws" is a script of mine to switch workspace to the one in the first argument then execute the command in the remaining arguments
