I have two pc's with the same xubuntu install, one has a nvidia 1060 graphic card, the another has a more regular one.
On the nvidia one, without any user action, xfwm4 always uses 3-6% of cpu, on the other 0.5% (values seen in htop).
Even if I restart it, nothing changes.
What could be the reason of this behaviour?

Here is an existing bug report about high CPU in xfwm4. Alot of contradictory information there.
Have you tried using different compositor vblank modes as indicated at this link to see if any of them help?
