Strange xfce panel behaviour. Item options wont close.

I have this situation:

Some items in my panel (using 4.14) such as battery, volume, clipman, wont close with a second click in the same icon. I have to click way outside of them, or select one of their options.

If I recall, it was supposed to close clicking the same icon, or one beside it. Example: clipman wont close clicking its icon, I have to select one entry of the menu, or click any other area.

What can It be? Is it because of compton? (I am using it just for the better anti-tearing, no fancy options there).

Regards.

Re: Strange xfce panel behaviour. Item options wont close.

I just added clipman to test and tested my other panel items and all seem to work as expected. Either clicking on the icon or anywhere else will close the dialogue. You may be correct about compton. I don't use it. I would try and shut it off or resort to the default compositor to confirm.

Indeed, it is because of compton.

Tried other windows managers and all seems to work.

My question now is, why? I am just using it because screen tearing is greatly reduced with it. Is that a bug?

I dont really want to use other WM. And I would like to fix that behaviour.

From https://github.com/chjj/compton

compton may not track focus correctly in all situations. The focus tracking code is experimental. --use-ewmh-active-win might be helpful.

Might be a good idea to look into configurations.
