not able to enter password in terminal

Hello,
I have been using virtal box terminal for running a fea package files.

apparently there was a installation of some utillities to be done for running a command.
Once i gave the installation command.
The terminal asks me to enter system password.
But once the password tab is active nothing i type on thee keyboard works except enter.
So the terminal is not allowing me to enter the password somehow.

Re: not able to enter password in terminal

Hello and welcome.

When entering passwords in a terminal, the characters you enter are not echoed (displayed) on the screen for security purposes but still processed. When pressing enter, you submit the password you typed. The message you are getting indicates that the incorrect password was entered.
