It's been a while since I've recorded any cd or dvd (I think since fedora 24 and xfce 4.8), today when I tried to record an .iso it was impossible. System doesn't recognize blank disks, xfburn either. With an external reader system recognizes blank dvd but xfburn does not.
I've looked around, there's been this kind of problem for years, but I haven't found a solution that works for me.
I have thought that maybe I am missing some packages, I have reinstalled xfburn etc. everything seems to be in order but problem persists.
If anyone knows where to look for find the solution...

First thing I would do is check permissions when you insert a disk. It you don't have write permission then you can't use it.
But it's all right, when you're all in pain and you feel the rain come down
It's alright, when you find your way, then you see it disappear
It's alright....

It is not a question of permissions, you can log in as root and the result is the same: system and xburn do not recognize inserted disks.
I think, this must be something else.
