high cpu load on xfwm4 -- update?

Hi Folks,

My cpu load on xfwm4 keeps climbing, sometimes reaching near 100%. If I reboot or restart X, it goes down for a day or so, and then starts climbing again. I've been following  this thread which was eventually migrated here. It looks like this problem is not unique to me but also not universal, although there doesn't seem to be any concsenus on the best way to solve it permanently. Does anyone on this forum know what's going on?
