modifying panel behavior when on desktop

Hello, I was wondering whether there was a way to control a panel's behavior when on the desktop. I have installed plank as a dock and I also have a small panel at the bottom of my screen that is always visible that shows time, battery level and some other useful info and shortcuts. This is all fine while I've got an application up, but I'd like for the panel at the bottom to hide when I'm on the desktop. Is there any way to accomplish this?

Re: modifying panel behavior when on desktop

Right click on the Panel and select Panel>>Panel Preferences, under the Display tab you should have "Automatically Hide Panel". The options are "Never" "Intelligently" and "Always".
