Hello and welcome.

Xfce has something called Presentation Mode (click on the power-manager icon on the panel) that can be toggled via:

xfconf-query -c xfce4-power-manager -p /xfce4-power-manager/presentation-mode -T

Caffeine or the forked caffeine-ng are also designed to do something similar. I believe you can activate/deactivate via command line as well.
