session/screen lock

I think there's some confusing overlap between Xfce Power Manager and the screensaver.   I'd like the display to go dark after a short time (5 minutes), but I don't want to have to enter my password after 5 minutes.   Under Power Manager - Security, I have 'Automatically lock the session' set to Never.   It looks like also (or instead) I need to change the Screensaver settings.   How do these two interact, or what should I set & what should I ignore?

Re: session/screen lock

The same thing happened to me. Make sure you have "xscreensaver" installed and with the options disabled, as with another program like "mate-screensaver", it will prevail over anyone and everything will work as it should!
