How to remove the 'Application widget' icon?

I know that the widget 'whisker' offers this functionality, but the standard 'Application' widget does not.
I need only the text to remain, not logo.
If it is possible, please help me.

Re: How to remove the 'Application widget' icon?

Which version of xfce4-panel?

If 4.14, then add the following to ~/.config/gtk-3.0/gtk.css:

#applicationmenu-button image { -gtk-icon-transform: scale(0.0); margin-left: -20px; }

I don't have 4.12 handy to test this, but try creating a 1x1 transparent image file and use that as the icon.
