xfce logout shutdown

I'm no longer able to click the shutdown or restart buttons from the logout menu because they are disabled. How do I get the buttons enabled to shutdown or restart?

Re: xfce logout shutdown

Hello and welcome.

We'll need to know much more about your system:
- Xfce version (of version of xfce4-session)
- which distro are you using?
- How do you start Xfce? Do you use a display manager (and if so which one) or are you logging in via startx (in which case, post your ~/.xinitrc).
- Did you do something to your system, or what changes did you make that led to the disabled buttons?

Also important would be the results of the following command:

xfce4-power-manager --dump

...and the contents of your ~/.xsession-errors file or the journal entries from your current boot.
