Hi all,
Not sure if this is where I post this kind of bug report. so if not, please let me know.
I've seen this issue since the last version of XFCE I think. Basically, whenever desktop zoom is enabled, certain applications will not redraw the screen unless you move the mouse over that effected area. This is demonstrated most easily with a text editor like Mousepad. Zoom in and start typing, not all letters show up or parts of the letter is not visible. Wave the mouse over it, seems to force an redraw so will bring the screen back up to date. This issue does not effect all app, Google Chrome seems fine. Not sure if it's a GTK interfacing with XFCE issue, or something else.
Please let me know what kind of info I need to provide. I'm running Xubuntu 20.10, but I saw this back in 20.04, I think after updating to XFCE 4.14.
thanks

Hello and welcome to the forum.
I couldn't reproduce it in a quick test on Xubuntu 18.04 with Xfce 4.14 (xfwm4 version is 4.14.5).
It isn't listed as an issue, either.
What version of xfwm4 are you using? See with:
xfwm4 -V

I can not confirm this issue on Xubuntu 20.04 either. xfwm4 -V returns:
This is xfwm4 version 4.14.1 (revision 44809c49) for Xfce 4.14
Released under the terms of the GNU General Public License.
Compiled against GTK+-3.24.17, using GTK+-3.24.20.
It may depend on HW drivers and/or compositor setting (compositor has quite strange behaviour on my system and hardware; more about compositor settings here: https://forum.xfce.org/viewtopic.php?id=13233 )

@Signy, your link did the trick! I had to set the mode to glx
So far so good. Thanks everyone for the help.
