If I have a number of tabs open in firefox as often as not clicking on a tab opens that page in a new instance of the browser.
I understand that by clicking AND dragging a tab the action is to open in a new window ... but, I'm pretty sure that I'm not dragging. Well, I think I'm sure.
The unwanted action doesn't seem to happen in KDE or Mate. Is there a mouse setting in XFCE I should be looking at? In my Mouse & Pointer dialogue I have:
Drag & Drop threshold set to 8, Double click 400ms and Distance 7px.
Thanks.

Hi Mellowbob,
I've seen this myself in Firefox (in the past) and now occasionally in Brave.
For Firefox, I used this extension to stop it from happening: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo … src=search
Hope that helps.

Thanks for the link. Seems to be working .. and the little hiccup is a nice (I guess) signal that I did something wrong. I wonder if there is a firefox chrome setting to disable this?
Okay, found it. in about:config there is an option browser.tabs.allowTabDetach which can be toggled. You can still move the tab to a new window via tab-click <move><to-new-window>. Perfect!
