Thunar: problem typing

In Thunar we can use keyboard to type something and select matching files/folders.
The problem is in my Thunar (Debian 10) I can only type one letter, and then the typing box lost focus. Though the first matching file/folder is selected, I must then press Esc to get back focus of my keyboard.
I faced this problem also in Bunsenlabs and CBPP distros.

EDIT: Well this doesn't happen all the time, such as when I'm writing this edit
