I have Dell G5 5590 notebook.
Install OpenSUSE Leap 15.2 under Xfce i see freezing after use Fn keys.
For example i press Fn+F1 (sound off). In pavucontrol i see that sound is off, but pulseaudio module in system tray is freeze about 1-2 minutes.
If i try control volume level the same happens (first action works, all following only after long delay).
If i try to adjust backlight level the same happens.
If I use KDE plasma this does not happen.
If i use Fn keys for multimedia (next, previous, play/pause) they works fine. But if i try adjust sound level - i see freezez when user multimedia keys.
Backlight level keys doesnt have infulence on multimedia keys.
Fn keys for wireless devices (Fn+PrtSct) always work fine.

In the pulseaudio plugin properties, can you try to disable the "keyboard shortcuts for volume control" option to see if that makes a difference?
Also, what does the following return:
ps -ef | grep pulse

The error message that you are getting:
(wrapper-2.0:5891): pulseaudio-plugin-CRITICAL **: 19:47:11.348: pulseaudio_volume_set_volume: assertion 'pa_context_get_state (volume->pa_context) == PA_CONTEXT_READY' failed
...would indicate a connection issue between the plugin and pulseaudio.
Can you successfully change the volume using pavucontrol? Or does it also freeze?

If i manually change the volume over pavucontrol or plugin in xfce all work fine.
Trouble only with changing with media buttons

Maybe best to create a bug report for the developers to look at.
