[SOLVED] Whisker Menu constant background CPU load

On an i7-4550U laptop the whisker menu shows a constant 2.5-4% CPU load even when it's not showing.

Why does it have such a background load? I'd like to reduce/eliminate this to conserve battery.

Any idea or hint is appreciated.

EDIT: the load was caused by the Ultimate-Dark theme. Switched to Adwaita-dark and the background load instantly went to 0.
