Xfce4 menu

I test xfce4 on slack 14.2, so I see a slow down menu. In fact when I select menu, I must attend some second before it opened. Fluxbox and KDE don't do it.

Re: Xfce4 menu

What version of Xfce are you running?

xfce4-about -V

How do you log into Xfce? startx or a display manager. If a display manager, which one?

Also, does slackware use an ~/.xsession-errors file? If so, post back the contents after a fresh login.

Which menu are you referring to? The Whisker Menu or the Applications menu?

Re: Xfce4 menu

There are a lot of theme (both gtk and icon) warning messages in your log file. Can you try reverting back to the default to see if its better? Type the following into a terminal window:

xfconf-query -c xsettings -p /Net/ThemeName -s ""
xfconf-query -c xsettings -p /Net/IconThemeName -s ""

This will revert to defaults.

Log out and back in again. Check the menu speed and post back the output of ~/.xsession-errors once more.
