Hi there,
I am trying to set-up my new bullseye debian computer desktop settings.
so far, the only way to have the keyboard I need is to use system default.
/etc/default/keyboard
cat /etc/default/keyboard
XKBMODEL="dell"
XKBLAYOUT="ca"
XKBVARIANT="fr"
setxkbmap ca -variant fr // also works
setxkbmap "ca(fr)" // this works well
in XFCE when I launch the settings/keyboard applet, the french-canada layout is missing from the list.
the list items presents exactly the same 7 options as here:
localectl list-x11-keymap-variants ca
eng
fr-dvorak
fr-legacy
ike
multi
multi-2gr
multix
there is no french-canada option fr-ca fr-canada in the applet nor in localectl
when I click Add layout from the applet I first have to choose the language/country first.
as I expand french (canada), I find weird to see english as an option in a french query.
please help me setting my canadian french layout.
