Hi everyone!
I am using the latest xfce packages from the Manjaro (arch) repositories.
The Notification Plugin for the xfce panel does not change its icon, when there are new (unread) notifications logged. This is independent of the icon theme in use (I tried a few, e.g., Maia, Papirus, Adwaita, ...). All of them have some notification-(new|disbaled|...) icons present. When I choose "do not disturb" mode, the icon changes, depending on the theme, to some greyed out or crossed out symbol. However, unread notifications don't have any effect on the icon.
This would be a valuable "feature" for me, so I would appreciate any help.
Best regards ...

Can we see you notification settings?
xfconf-query -c xfce4-notifyd -lv
Also, is there anything in ~/.xsession-errors about the notification plugin?

Thank you for your quick reply, ToZ!
The problem has resolved itself. Yesterday I tried the icon themes + reboots and nothing changed. Today I boot into xfce and suddenly I see the new notification symbol.
Just for reference:
$ xfconf-query -c xfce4-notifyd -lv
/applications/known_applications <<UNSUPPORTED>>
/do-not-disturb false
/expire-timeout 15
/initial-opacity 0,700000
/log-level 1
/log-level-apps 0
/notification-log true
/notify-location 2
/primary-monitor 0
/theme Default
and the only messages in .xsession-errors from yesterday related to notifications are of this type:
(xfce4-notifyd-config:4074): Gtk-WARNING **: 22:49:27.667: Content added to the action
area of a dialog using header bars
but they are here today as well.
So everything works now as expected, thanks and best regards.
