Desktop settings issue [SOLVED]

I have a very stable DEBIAN Buster here, but today I am experiencing a strange behavior.

A reset by

$ mv ~/.config/xfce4-session/ ~/.config/xfce4-session-bak
$ mv ~/.config/xfce4/ ~/.config/xfce4-bak

did not fix that issue.

Here is the desktop setting window (left) opened from xfce settings menu -> desktop settings and again (right window) opened doing a right mouse click directly on the desktop.

The left window behaves ok, but the right window is frozen and has to be killed. Also the content is not ok.

Any suggestions please?

Re: Desktop settings issue [SOLVED]

Can you post the output of running:

xfdesktop-settings

...in a terminal window?

Also, is there anything in your ~/.xsession-errors file when opening the window?

Re: Desktop settings issue [SOLVED]

Thank you for having a look. But in the meantime I found the issue.

Used

 xfdesktop-settings -e

and the output of that command made things clear to me..

Had my 'wallpapers' on another drive symlinked to my home folder. The issue was in that 'construction'. Created a new 'wallpapers' folder directly in my home folder, copied all pic there and the issue has gone.
