Raise mousepad on new file

Hi,

I'm trying to fix an annoying behaviour: say I have mousepad open when a text file. Now  I switch to a terminal and I type 'mousepad file2'. The new file  will appear as a new tab in the original mousepad window but the latter won't be raised so now I have to cycle among all open to reach it.

Is there a way to make mousepad (or any other program) raise itself when opening a new file?.

Thanks
