I'm running Ubuntu 20.04 LTS and Xfce 4.14 and have the following problem.
Left-clicking the Bluetooth icon in the panel turns Bluetooth off. If the mouse is Bluetooth you have just shot yourself in the foot. It's easily done and very disruptive.
It is a very poor choice for a default action. Is it configurable?
EDIT: Left click opens a menu, but if you don't watch out you will very easily get hit by the first menu choice: Disable.
EDIT 2: While fact-checking for this post, OOPS, I DID IT AGAIN! Incredible. This feature really begs for trouble. Most of the time I run a box with a touchpad and no harm is done, but on this box there is no touchpad and Disable means why don't you go and get yourself a USB mouse. You have to have a spare USB mouse available.

...reminds me of the time I opened a virt-viewer to a vm I intended to pass a usb dongle to. Instead I clicked on the host's Logitech unified receiver...That was fun.
On my Debian, left click opens an action menu, the same as a right click.
