Greetings to you, and welcome to this forum!

As an aside, just to clarify: your wifi problem has less to do with your xfce4 desktop, but more with xubuntu's "core" configiration which is based on ubuntu 20.04.

Your issue can be quite tricky to fix, but let's try anyway ... To begin with please run the following command in a terminal

inxi -n

then copy the output and paste into your next reply. Thank you.
