Calculator plugin missing from "add to panel"

Hi,

I've downloaded the panel calculator plugin: https://docs.xfce.org/panel-plugins/xfc … ugin/start

The configure + make + make install process finished without any apparent errors but the plugin isn't showing in the "add to panel" menu even after restarting.

I'm on Sparky rolling (=Debian testing).

Any suggestions?.

Thanks

Re: Calculator plugin missing from "add to panel"

When you ran ./configure, did you specify the proper prefix and libdir (like in your other post)? On debian-based distros you especially have to specify the correct libdir. Eg.

./configure --prefix=/usr --libdir=/lib/$(uname -m)-linux-gnu

...otherwise the desktop and library files don't end up in the correct locations.

Thanks - I've deleted the existing directory, re-extracted & recompiled it's available now.

It's annoying this is such a convoluted process. The .configure file should be able to detect the distro and adjust the libdir settings on its own. Plus, the README file doesn't mention anything about this.

Cheers
