deactivate keyboard menu key response for an application

I am using the <menu> key heavily for editor commands which works fine with my editor gui, because it does not respond to it by default.

However the xfce4-terminal opens the right-click context menu, which prevents me from using my editor setup in the terminal emulator.

Is it possible to deactivate that behaviour without remapping the key?
