so I'm trying to move into Linux and really loved linux mint with xcfe. thing is, after messing with some open source drivers ig, something happened and my graphics were heavily glitched.
I don't know what to do, I've already tried installing, reinstalling and uninstalling both mesa and proprietary AMDGPU drivers and nothing worked. Not even reinstalling my system. I believe it has to do with xorg/xrandr since I have to use a custom resolution to have maximum res since I have an old VGA monitor and the graphics are very much normal when I switch back to 640x480, which is the resolution I was stuck with until doing xrandr new then addmode. And for some reason, it's specifically this resolution, 1440x900, which is my monitor's max res, and a little lower, no matter the refresh rate, that makes it bug out. Anything lower than 720p works just fine. Also, setting it under some mod like reflection or rotation also makes it work just fine. The problem is when it's bare at 1366x768~1440x900.
For some reason, this only keeps happening in xcfe. When I tried switching to LXDE, everything went back to normal. Any clues? Xfce 4.14
My specs:
RX VEGA 11
Ryzen 5 3400g
2x4GB RAM 2400MHz
A320M-HD
For reference. That was ubuntu before I switched to mint xcfe to see if the problem persisted

Hello and welcome.
You don't mention which version of Xfce you are running. However, if on 4.14 or greater, have a read through this post to see if the information there is helpful.
Running:
xfwm4 --help
...will identify which vblank modes are supported in your version.

My bad. I will edit the version into the post. Also, the command gave me a list of other commands. Im supposing I should run which says vblank=off?
