For some reasons, power manager is now working properly.
I can't set it to turn off the display after inactivity. The same happens if I want it to go in stenby after inactivity.
Any idea to see how I can fix this?
Thank you.

Hello and welcome.
I can't replicate this issue on my system, but I am using Xfce 4.16 and xfce4-power-manager 4.16.0. You don't mention which versions you are using but IIRC, ubuntu 20.04 is still on 4.12?
There is also this bug report that is similar. The developer can't replicate the issue either but the reporter makes an interesting observation about the battery and A/C settings needing to be the same for it to work. Perhaps you can test that on your system and post back to that bug report with your findings.
Also, here is another potentially related bug report that seems to indicate some sort of screensaver intereference.

hi,
Thank you for replying my post. I am running on Xfce 4.14 and xfce power manager 4.14.
I will check the bug report, but I think that maybe an update to 4.16 could be of help. I don't have my battery attached, maybe I could try to put it on and see if there is any difference.
