Issue with AMD Graphics Drivers

Attempting to set up a couple games I have had working perfectly fine in the past on Linux. recently moved over to the AHS version of MX xfce from the non AHS and now I cant seem to get the game to work. the message the game spits out is your drivers or card is out of date and i was playing this fine last week. im not sure what it is but i cant seem to install the Amdgpu-pro drivers like i had with my last system. even following the same method as before to update them. Does anyone have any idea how to help? when i just install the amd gpu pro drivers on top of the existing ones after running a purge it only lets me boot to terminal and roll back the pro drivers to get a desktop again.

If anyone could help that would be amazing. im still pretty new to all of the more technical side of linux.
