status tray plugin icons

I am using manjaro, I set it up last week.
There is an issue with the icons in the status tray.
For example, flameshot & a few others are just represented by a default blue icon with an 'i'
I have tried using different icon sets but its the same.
Sometimes the icons are not there at all, just blank.

any help would be appreciated.

Re: status tray plugin icons

Hello and welcome.

This is a known bug. See: https://gitlab.xfce.org/xfce/xfce4-panel/-/issues/340. It appears that for QT programs that change the tray icon on the fly, the revert back action doesn't happen.

For flameshot, the workaround is to uncheck "Show welcome message on launch" in its configuration settings.

Re: status tray plugin icons

I literally came on the forum to try and find a solution to this after having spent almost 6 hours searching the entire web for random janky solutions.

me: same , manjaro and that dumb ' i ' icon .

behavior: I have noticed for a brief moment when you login ... sometimes... you see the icons and then a flash later they are gone.

in fact if I go Status Tray Plugin > Preferences in the 'Status Tray Items' screen . oh lord, so many things are missing... QuiteRss, KeePass, etc... and the comment above jives ; I believe these are all QT ... qBittorrent etc...

is there any DIY solution to fix 1 or 2 ?

like for instance ; I found this...
