Thunar does not allow view settings for each folder

I am trying to enable "Remember view settings for each folder" in Thunar. The checkbox and the option appears in grey and I cannot activate it. I am pasting a screenshot in imgur, in case I wasn't able to explain it properly:

ps: I am not sure, what more details I need to share for resolving my problem. Please feel free to ask any additional information that might be required to solve this problem.

gvfs must be installed for that option to be available. Or are you running thunar as root?

Thanks!! As you pointed out gvfs was not installed. I installed gvfs and now Thunar works like a charm
