Can't change the keyboard layout to Japanese 106 on my Dell XPS 13

Hello,

I recently installed Archlinux and Xfce4 on my Dell XPS 13 laptop.
I live in Japan and the laptop is using the keyboard layout jp106.

The keyboard layout on Archlinux is correctly set to jp106, and I can use my keyboard well after logging in without X11.

However, on Xfce, my keyboard doesn't work, and I can't input '|' character.

On the Settings -> Keyboard, I switched off the button for using the system default and tried several settings in vain.

Would anyone help me solve this problem?

Chang-hs,
Try this and see if it works for you. Add "keyboard layouts" to the xfce panel and choose Japanese.

Thanks a lot, Andrewclive.

It turned out that I had erroneously selected 'Japanese (PC98)' instead of simple 'Japanese'.

After selecting 'Japanese', it worked fine.
