Hello,
I've been experimenting with virt-manager and I noticed that when XFCE is used with virtio 3D acceleration enabled XFCE gives a blank screen. As a workaround, I've to use QXL or virtio without 3D acceleration. Then disable the default xfwm4-compositor and replace it with another or replace the mode with xpresent or off. After doing one of these I can turn on 3D acceleration for the virtual machine and use it.
If I use `glx` or `Auto` XFCE ends up with a black screen. Will this be fixed or do I need to create a bug report or is this a known issue?

You need to include more info. The host gpu is relevant to this functionality. The host qemu version is relevant. The guest mesa version is important...etc.
I haven't seen an issue, but have seen a fail to start a vm with an appropriate '3d acceleration not supported' when using an 3rd box with virt-viewer. Since I still have a mixed environment I use qxl with big cpu's, so I'm not 'there' yet..
You should also distinguish between a 'black screen' and a failed X11 launch on tty7. Hint - use 'Send Key' and check tty1...

GPU: Intel Corporation HD Graphics 530 (rev 06) (and no I'm not using pass-through)
QEMU: 6.1.0-1
Guest Mesa: 21.2.1-1
It is a black screen for GUI I can drop to TTY and use that.

I can drop to TTY and use that.
Yes, now you know the issue is in the guest. For more feedback, startx there on the tty cli.
You could launch the vm in a terminal with virsh for any feedback on the host.
That gets you started, I don't have anything similar. Somebody needs to do it! Good luck.
