I would like to be able to take ID3 metadata from the tracks on audio CDs.
SoundJuicer appears to read WAV (or AIFF) from the mounted CD (and is therefore not really a ripper?). WAV does not support ID3. SoundJuicer has an advantage for me in that it is also capable of playing the CD. But this is not all that important. The main idea is import to a music database.
If I could see the files as AIFF or FLAC I would (I assume) be able to see the ID3 data and I could import directly into my music database.
As a workaround, I can use Asunder. This goes direct to the CD, so all is well. It would be nice to have the conversion done in the mount, though.
Is there somewhere to change the CD mount feature to have it encode the tracks with the meta data (preferably lossless)?
Thanks

If you are mounting an actual CD or an iso image then the format is wave. In this case you should use a CDDB database to identify the CD, and offer up the info.
I used to use changers and iso's with a local database, no longer do, so what supports this I no longer know.

at least all that WAV data is not taking up file space. many tools can play WAV or read it to convert to another format. do you need to use a program that cannot work with WAV?

@skaperen: the audio is not the problem. I'm looking for the track info. I know it can be extracted, because it works using Asunder (bearing in mind also that WAV does not support the track info). I would like to know if that could be done by default.
