Negative window coordinates

Hi,

I'm using xfce 4.16 & trying to fine tune window placement for some apps.

wmctrl -d shows (1 monitor, 4 desktops):

0 - DG: 1680x1050 VP: N/A WA: 0,30 1680x995 1
1 - DG: 1680x1050 VP: N/A WA: 0,30 1680x995 2
2 - DG: 1680x1050 VP: N/A WA: 0,30 1680x995 3
3 * DG: 1680x1050 VP: 0,0 WA: 0,30 1680x995 4

xwininfo on a dummy (mousepad) window flushed left:

  Absolute upper-left X: -12
  Absolute upper-left Y: 19
  Relative upper-left X: 0
  Relative upper-left Y: 0
  Width: 864
  Height: 702
  Depth: 32
  Visual: 0x102
  Visual Class: TrueColor
  Border width: 0
  Class: InputOutput
  Colormap: 0x6e00006 (not installed)
  Bit Gravity State: NorthWestGravity
  Window Gravity State: NorthWestGravity
  Backing Store State: NotUseful
  Save Under State: no
  Map State: IsViewable
  Override Redirect State: no
  Corners: +-12+19 -828+19 -828-329 +-12-329
  -geometry 864x702+-12+19

If the window is flushed left how can it have a negative x coordinate?. There are no vertical panels defined and the viewport start from x=0.

Thanks
