File→Open : `Pathbar` instead of a `Toolbar`, like in Thunar ?

When opening a file from any application, is it possible to display the location as a `Pathbar` instead of a `Toolbar`, like in Thunar ?

There was an issue with Gtk but it was closed with an arogant message.
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gtk/-/issues/938
There is also this:
https://unix.stackexchange.com/question … f-path-bar

Ctrl-L will activate and highlight the filename entry, but the same happens when you just start to type - and there's a difference if you start typing with / or a letter.
Ctrl-V also seems to work. Copying filenames is possible, but not complete paths.

Hmm, this is exactly how it works on my side, Thunar 1.8.14. What's your version?

Remember to edit the subject of your topic to include the [SOLVED] tag once you're satisfied with the answers or have found a solution (in which case, don't forget to share it as well), so that other members of the community can quickly refer to it and save their time. Pretty please! tongue

As a template try to your preferences; ~/.config/gtk-2.0/gtkfilechooser.ini

/home/doms/.config/gtk-2.0/gtkfilechooser.ini
[Filechooser Settings]
LocationMode=path-bar
ShowHidden=false
ShowSizeColumn=true
GeometryX=506
GeometryY=292
GeometryWidth=915
GeometryHeight=675
SortColumn=name
SortOrder=ascending
StartupMode=recent

under ./gtk-3.0/ I don't know...
