DIsable workspaces for external monitor

Is there a way to disable workspaces for an external monitor? I find it highly confusing to have multiple workspaces on my laptop + them duplicated on my external monitor. I'd like to use my external monitor as an independent "workspace". Is it possible?

Re: DIsable workspaces for external monitor

Unfortunately no. What I've done in the past is put a full-screen app on the second monitor and pinned it - this gave the illusion that it was only one workspace (though really the workspaces were still changing underneath). Not sure if this will help your use case, though.

Re: DIsable workspaces for external monitor

Oh this is very unfortunate. Yes I can pin a window or several on that workspace, but in the workspace switcher I see a lot of workspaces previews. I use around 4 workspaces, and now I see 8 workspaces basically...Drag dropping apps between them becomes very confusing with so many workspaces.
